I recently ported DerelictFI to the BindBC framework as 
bindbc-freeimage:

It binds to FreeImage 3.17 (the default) and 3.18 (configurable 
at compile time). I currently have no plans to support older 
versions (3.17 is already 4 years old, and 3.16 was released in 
2015) but will consider it if there's demand.
