FWIW The code isn't great. Maybe I'll have another crack at it 
some day but it wasn't very well structured compared to similar 
efforts I have seen (e.g. 
https://developers.redhat.com/blog/2020/03/26/static-analysis-in-gcc-10 's implementation)
