You can do this with AliasSeq and staticIndexOf:

import std.meta;

alias Types = AliasSeq!(byte, ubyte, short, ushort, int, uint);
enum typeIndex(T) = staticIndexOf!(T, Types);
char[6] typechars="cCsSiI";

bool check(T)(char c) {
     return typechars[typeIndex!T] == c;
}
