Can dmd now be installed in a non-rood directory?

You have to use the short filename version of the path, e.g. 
D:\Progra~1\Digita~1\bin\link.exe.

Use dir /x to find out what the path is (the 1 increments per each 
duplicate entry.)  Or actually, you probably already know that.
