Help with DMD 1.00? - Dont know where else to post this

I don't know anything about installing on Linux other than I've heard it 
can be tricky (I'm strictly a Windows user right now). There are some 
tips on a wiki page, but I don't know how helpful they are:

I think that the final issue you reported is related to a known bug:
