The example was known to be a tricky one, and the reaction to it was 
"strong"; it was being leveraged to hoist straw-men and at one point 
became "troll fodder" (for want of a better term).

Then there was a vague concern that Walter might be dropping support for 
call-chaining; thankfully that turned out to be incorrect.

My bewiliderment over that led the word "mystery" within the subject
