The question of "why does god allow evil?" could be rephrased as: "why does
god allow the worst thing that can happen to happen?" If the worst that could
happen was a paper cut, it would be the worst that could happen and we would
see it as terrible. (This assumes, as the evidence shows, that the world
is able to produce suffering beyond our own imagination.)
