WordCount performance

What if you can't do b nor have the time to learn b and see that another 
compiler(language) runs faster without the need of b?
I love all the features D gives me and the prospect that somebody who knows 
assembler could optimize parts of the code later on.
But, I'd just wish for D to be as fast as C without the use of b.
