I should note both #313 and #314 are both fixed (or at least partially 
fixed) in ldc, so unless Walter has some unspoken objections to the 
current patches it shouldn't be too much effort to fix it in dmd. I 
believe he did raise some issues with it, but I think they have been 
fixed since, I'm not 100% on this though.
