Kickstarter and Conference

Unfortunately, that's how kickstarter works. The only other way would be to like 
send Andrei a check, and he could post to kickstarter on your behalf. Sending 
Digital Mars a check won't work, as kickstarter won't let the project originator 
pledge to his own project.
