I assume you are doing C or C++. Under the preprocessor, why do 
not #define a ifnonzero() and a ifzero() macro, if that bothers 
you so much? (also works for testing against NULL).

In D, it is less possible to do so (curse of lacking 
processor...). Or maybe it is and I am missing it.
