The project of the moment involves Glade, Gtk, and Pango, but with a
heavy dose of Fontconfig because Pango makes a whole mass of assumptions
that are unacceptable for the purpose of this project.

The C++ version shows how weird C++ gets. The Python version shows how
easy Python is for the same task assuming ctypes (CFFI is not yet up to
the task). I am starting a D version just to see if it can do the
needful – my expectation is that it will trounce the C++ version, the
question is how the Python and D versions compare.

Basically it is a font browsing system, hence the title GFontBrowser.
