Walter's talk on component programming is one of the best, I 
think, for showing how the language features can come together in 
a nice way. That's a pretty good motivator for getting someone

In my attempts to describe D to colleagues and friends, I have 
made an observation. I think there's not a single killer feature 
of D that makes it great, but it's rather like how a lot of very 
small and interesting features come together. Slices and every 
detail about how they work I think is a nice selling point.
