Sometimes, when the idea is right, you still need to get behind and push it.
"Build it and they will come" is a stupid hollywood fantasy.
I've also written DIPs, which garnered zero comments. I implemented them, and
the PR's sat there for some time, until I finally harangued some people via
email to get them pulled.
I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that's just how it is. The DIPs were for
things that looked obscure and were technically complex, a surefire recipe for a
collective yawn even though I knew they were crucial (inferring uniqueness).
If you're looking for lots of comments, start a nice bikeshedding thread about
whitespace conventions :-)
