What 'subtle semantics' or 'tricky behaviour'? It is straightforward. 
The introduced bugs are due to accidental usage caused by failure to 
match parentheses correctly. (i.e. comma removes some redundancy from 
the language syntax. This does not mean it is a difficult concept.)
