Also, shipping binary builds for "Linux" without any further 
qualification is quite the headache anyway. Typically, you have 
to use some really old distro to avoid backwards compatibility 
issues with glibc et al., and then hope that newer distros don't 
ship any ABI-compatible changes to some of the used shared 
libraries.

You don't really know how much of a pain that can be until you've 
tried it. ;)
