Females in the community.

This is very true. I know that, particularly in academia, there 
is an enormous amount of additional funding to entice women to 
enter the STEM subjects, particularly engineering/computer 
science. I don't believe many, if any, other fields have similar 
outreach programs.

D's community is very open and welcoming, certainly focusing on 
merit above all.
