Are you talking about the whole country or Istanbul? Anyway, it's 
not the average homicide rate I'm concerned with, it's the fact 
that you might happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time 
when a bomb goes off. The thing is that whoever is behind such 
attacks targets foreigners. And I think most attendees at DConf 
would qualify as foreigners. No, it's simply not worth the risk, 
even if it is statistically low in the broad scheme of things, it 
is much higher than average at the moment.
