It can also simple be that most people who used D before, had 
time to upgrade to the newer version.

Its better to correlate the download rate with the rate of 
posting in the Learn section, to see how many are really new 
users. Ali's book downloads seems to have no noticeable 
difference in this periode, something you normally expect with 
new people trying out the language ( Especially as the 
pdf/website book version is free ).

Another issue is that from those graph's the influence of the 
2.072 release very fast dropped down again to pre-2.072. So one 
can conclude there has been no followup.
