Each message has a unique permanent link which you can get by 
copying the link from the post title, or the "permalink" link in 
the post sidebar, or (if you're using a modern browser with 
JavaScript enabled), simply click on the post and copy the 
contents of your browser's address bar. The URL contains the RFC 
850 Message-ID, so it can be looked up directly in an email / 
NNTP client or server by those not using the web interface.
