D in China?

Hi.

I'm responsible for technology for an investment management
company with its main offices in Hong Kong and London. We also
have a small office in Shenzhen, and we're interested in becoming
more involved in the Chinese open-source community, possibly via
sponsoring projects for the summer, and I'd be very happy if some
or most of those turned out to be in D. (Our founder is a
mainland Chinese national).

The investment business is different from the web community, and
so we would have to select the projects quite carefully, and they
would need, especially initially, to be of more direct business
benefit than might sometimes be the case for other industries.

I know that there are some D users in China, notably Putao, and
also a flourishing open-source community. And I'd be interested
in knowing if there might be sufficient interest to explore this
idea, and where the best places to go might be. I see there is
this:

http://opencas.org/

And that there's a dlang.org.cn site, which seems to be in the
fairly early stages.

Any suggestions, pointers, and expressions of interest welcomed.
Please email me directly if you prefer at laeeth at kaleidic dot
io, or we could also speak at dconf in Berlin.

Thanks.

Laeeth.
