Sadly, the iPad1 is quite capable, but is stuck on iOS5 and thus 
the browser will fail on many sites. In my experience RAM and CPU 
is not the main issue. I actually like the ergonomic shape of the 
iPad1 more than later models, but planned obsoletion is what you 
have to live with these days...  I still use it for wikipedia and 
pdfs, though :-)
