[Greylist-users] Possible Enhancements

I was reading some postings on Nanog regarding mail and saw what
appeared from the start to be a semi-decent idea...

What if the greylisting process checked for an MX record, and did a
simple callback to see if the server was live? If the answer is yes to
both, then allow the mail through. If not, go through the normal
blocking procedure, flagging the entry as already tested.. ? That
would cut down on delaying legitimate mail, while still blocking mail
from zombies. (Even if a zombie responded to the callback, it's nearly
impossible for the zombie to have a valid mx record...)

Thoughts?
