[Robotgroup] HEI mystery device?

This could be it.  One thing I noticed was that it had forward and 
reverse wheels like some card readers in ATMs to drive the card or 
document in and spit it back out.

Since the sensor closest to each outside edge has a different spacing, I'd expect the edges of the card pick up timing marks, etc. Of course they might be in the infrared spectrum.
