I think the Dallas group (DPRG) did this in their warehouse space with a 15 second update. I rarely saw any activity, because it was on 24/7. But it would be interesting to give it a try.

Subject: [Robotgroup] Simulcast The Robot Group meeting on the net?
Ok, so I've been kicking this around for a bit:
When we get Internet access setup at PoKeJo's (our current home for
meetings) I was considering using Shoutcast to send the audio of the
meeting out over the Internet so members that are unable to attend the
meeting would be able to "virtually" attend.
We could also open an IRC channel or have a "chat" client of some type
so remote users could participate by sending their questions in etc. We
could also script up a web cam to update a pic on the web site every 15
seconds or so and to show closeups of whatever is being shown at the
show and tell...
So, if we went to all this trouble, who would be interested in attending
in this manner? :)
