[Robotgroup] Starting robotics, but where?

I have been corresponding with Mohammad for a while since his first inquiry to the RG.

He is trying to set up some sort of robot group at his middle school, and we are iterating on logistics - who on the faculty will be the official group sponsor, etc. Welcome to middle school in the new millenium...

Have not wanted to burden the list recipients with all the details, but will copy the list once something starts to get firmed up.

Hello Mohammad,

I suggest trying to get an adult to take you to one of our weekly
meetings. Gray has a VEX set, so could tell you a lot about his
experience with it. I think Denise said she got hold of a Mindstorms
set, so you could talk to her about that one. Also Vern's son Nick
(or is it Nic? Hello Vern?) has a Mindstorms set and he is close to
your age. And Vern himself is somewhat of a Parallax expert. I don't
know anything about the Arobot, but if it looks limited, then it
probably is. Myself, I am just a woodworker and don't know snot about
nothin'.

Les
