I mentioned this recently and someone (don't recall whom) suggested I
post the link.
Basically it's the dev kit (compiler, debugger, target board, USB cable,
and sample chips) for a new 8-pin HC08 derivative. My interest in it was
basically the $10 price and the ability to program and debug some small
8-bit 8-pin parts. They also have some 8 and 6-pin surface mount parts.
They expect you to watch a commercial/video to get the discounted price,
but I clicked 'skip it' and still got the reduced price. The compiler is
limited to 16K of code, but the parts are limited to 2K flash. It's the
RS08KA2 device. The only down-side I saw is the shipping charge was $12
for a $10 kit. (Regular kit price is $49.) You might be able to pick it
up from Avnet in town and save shipping.
