I used to use flashblock, and it works pretty well.  But when 
Adobe/Macromedia setup the newer versions of flash so you can't stop them 
from "phoning home" for software updates (and sending them who knows what 
other information that you have no control over), I stopped using the 
product completely.

I refuse to relinquish control of my computer to software that usurps my 
control and wishes.  Another annoying thing with recent versions, they force 
you to use their online web-portal to even view what few configuration 
options they do give you, which again you have no control over.

I prefer inaccessible content to uncontrollable software.  But I appear to 
be the fringe minority.  :)
