I have a friend of mine who is trying to "hack" a camcorder the way it
was shown in MAKE mag. Hes run into problems and sent me this
description. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could help him out?

Vern,

In the MAKE magazine there is the CVS camcorder that ias supposed to be
hackable so you can reuse it yourself instead of turning it back to CVS
and  paying to get your videos.

The article refers to Camerahacking.com for software to hack and unlock
the  camera.

The bottom line:

Computer can sense the camcorder with the USB port I installed...the
good part.

Now all the bad parts......

Spent MANY hours and days, reading a jumble of posts about a jumble of
warez that can do a  everything you ever needed to do.

Tired A LOT of different warez with little success.

Crashed my system many times.

Have not crashed the camcorders.

Thank goodness for my external back up drive. I have restored my system
four of five times.

I give up.

Someone you know can do this hack.........
