Summary:
-This morning a power failure at the TxIS office made it abundantly
clear that the batteries in my UPS were in need of replacement (they
only held power up for 4 minutes of the 9 minutes of power outage!)
-A Quick Froogle search showed Batteries Plus had the best price for
these batteries at $61.99 each... but my UPS needed FOUR of them
($247.96)!! (ouch!)
-More research revealed that http://www.batterywholesale.com carried the
same rated batteries for only $31.00 each! ($124.00 to equip my UPS)
- Even MORE research showed that batterywholesale.com is based in
Georgetown, TX:
http://tinyurl.com/jn63k [link to "maps.google.com"]
- A quick (well, long drive actually) to their site, I had my batteries
and was checking out and the rep asked me if I would like TxIS to become
a reseller... I showed my tax ID and said "sure!" - voila! - %25 off the
order! :) He even threw in the "fused cross-connects" I needed to make
the batteries ready to install in my UPS. :)
So, the moral of the story is, if you need batteries let me know as 1)
TxIS is now a reseller and 2)these guys are kickin Batteries Plus's
prices big time. Also, since you can pick them up, no huge shipping
fees. :) Neato!
