As I mentioned ,part of our driving force in the past was having Dave shoot his mouth off and commiting us into a situation and leaving it to the rest of us to make it happen .Maybe we do need to jump off that ledge again (Willingly this time)to get our collective asses in gear .RoboFests kept us so busy we did not have time to focus on what we thought we SHOULD be doing .
I know most of the old crew are still burned out and not interested in starting that treadmill again but if any of you want to start the proccess ,it will take alot of advaced booking and fund raising ,the 20 yr mark could be a good kick in the butt .
I will commit to building several more bots myself and get the crawler kits ready so those with less shop tools and space can build their own as well .
Everyone seems mostly agreeable to most of the mission statements presented so I think that will condense into something usable eventualy (just think how hard it was when we rarely agreed).I'll be happy to be one of the engines on this ship and I'm willing to go in whatever direction the navigators choose just so long as I do not have to drive in for all of the meetings .
One of the things that hit me thinking back about the end of the way things were and how it came about was.....the birth of e-mail and how one persons rantings can make private disscorse a mater of public record with the click of a mouse .It could make for a good research project to see how that effected groups as a whole during that same time .
