[Robotgroup] Banquet Thoughts... :)

I wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU for some amazing
behind-the-scenes work done by the folks that brought my primitive
pencil sketches to life as the "Davinci Awards":

** Ed Xavier Gonzalez
- For his beautiful and detailed work with the laser cutting and
etching, his experience and input on design details, and his creative
ability helping us come up with the name (but for his input, they might
have been known as the "blinkies" or some such!) :)

** Paul Atkinson
-For his work in designing the PC boards, etching them, drilling them,
locating software and programming the PIC chips, populating, soldering
and individually testing every circuit board, coming up with with the
"PC board in a AA battery area of a 4xAA holder". :)

** Rick Abbot
-For locating, bending, bead-blasting and drilling the metal, finishing
the black acrylic "shim" in front of the acrylic, drilling and tapping
the acrylic parts and performing the final assembly of all the parts
(even though we didn't finally get him all the bits till the day of the
banquet!) :)

** Nic Graner
-For sitting at the kitchen table helping Rick pull all the "paper" from
the itty-bitty etchings of text and graphics on each acrylic piece. :)

I'm glad we were able to keep the project under wraps so the awards
could be a surprise. A LOT of thought and effort went into their
creation and I hope they will find a place of honor in their respective
new homes.

In my minds eye I was hoping to design something so cool that someday,
in the future, NO ONE one would EVER find a Davinci Award stuffed in a
box with some dusty old bowling trophies at a garage sale.. ;)
