Hi folks--
Interesting meeting last night, a lot of valuable points were made.
On the subject of more of us taking responsibility to get done the
things we need to do, let's talk about the fact that the main page of
the website needs to be updated.
To be fair to all those who have been diligently editing the wiki:
that part is up to date, no complaints there. Y'all rock. However, I
still think we need to get some new stuff on that main page, for the
sake of publicity and outreach.
I'll have a few spare hours over the next week, and wouldn't mind
working on it. I figure I could just download the page into
Dreamweaver, add four or five new table rows under "Some Recent
Events of Interest", make some thumbnails from images from pics in
the wiki, link each one to the appropriate wiki entry for the event,
and send the results to Vern or Eric or someone who can upload. (It
would be even easier if Vern or Eric want to share the ftp/password
info necessary to upload, but if you want to keep that info secure,
that's understandable.) To quote our unofficial group motto, how hard
could it be?
Of course, I wasn't around for most of 2007, so I'll have to pester
some of you for info about some of the events.
What do y'all think? Good idea? Got suggestions of better ways to go
about it? Ideas about what events we want on the front page? I
suppose we can set things up so we can all preview any proposed
changes before they go live.
Regards-- Robert
