I read from Brooks in another thread: "OT -hey"

It gave me some ideas about the undertaking I am currently facing.
What I would like to see from current and future websites of The Robot
Group is that we start to view ourselves as an entity that changes over
time and has a wonderful history. I would like all things to be
associated with a time and place when they occur or are built. Rather
than seeing something as strictly current or history, I would like it to
all be integrated. Current project are just the most recent history of
the group.
It may seem like a small distinction but to me it is a major part of our
online presence. Example: Currently on the wiki we have a link to the
"Original Webpage" which is great as far as information archeology goes
but I would like to see it as a snapshot of who we were at a given time.
I would like to see yearly snapshots taken of our online presence as we
evolve so that future members we be able to see what we were like at any
given moment in time.
With the steps I outlined in the previous post I think this will be
possible. I never want us to be faced with the possibility of losing the
hard work of the past which is why my primary goal is to make the data
portable.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to work on this project as I
get further into it I will know better what I need each person to do.
Expect me to be calling on each of you very soon.
