Just musing. . . In my robot class we are learning about automatons -  
boy at writing desk, the Turk (faker!), the eating and pooping duck,  
etc. Found this kit we could build. . . in about a million years.  
Also read a new Brian Selznick kids' book called The Invention of  
Hugo Cabret about a boy who finds and fixes an automaton. Set in the  
1930's, the author ties it in with the development of motion pictures  
and mentioning their use in magic acts . Movies, Magic and Mechanical  
Men. We've seen use in movies just recently at an RG meeting, but I  
think the magic is still there, too. Speaking as one who understands  
neither clockwork nor chips.
