[Robotgroup] Fwd: Sad news

That is a shock and some very sad news for The Robot Group.

He had been an important part of The Robot Group since well before I
joined this outfit. He was very helpful to my effort at preserving
The Robot Group history. He was loaded with all sorts of ideas about
our activities. As the meeting before last, he was pumped up on the
idea of planning and staging the next RoboFest. He also ran in some
other circles - EFF-Austin and FACT come to mind - and helped The
Robot Group make friends among them. He was the primary force behind
our appearances at Linucon and our recent return to Armadillocon.

Tom was a good guy, full of information, and happy to share it with
you. He should have had - as Ed Gonzalez once suggested - his own
reserved parking space in front of every Half Price Books store.

Keep Tom and his family in your prayers. His mother is having a
tough time with his father's failing health. I can only guess that
the stress took its toll on our Tom, too. [The death notice in The
Monitor[1] mentions that he died in Alamo, TX.] I suppose that she
never saw this coming.

Godspeed to you, Tom Morin. Requiescat in pace.
