The manual:
http://www.microbric.com/sitefiles/File/DataSheets/ViperManual(1).pdf

although it seems rather incomplete, a few how-to's but no specs on variable space, speed, etc.
Its hard to tell if their basic has all the good i/o features that are found in parallax basic stamps.

I dont know if we can get boebots at a reasonable group price, but that would be a more familiar thing for the group.

Would anyone be interested in building our own kits from a homework board/Propeller/PIC/AVR, two continuous rotation servos and some hardware & hotglue? Seems like we could do it for $40 - $50

A while back we got into spybotics.

They were a good platform found on sale for $20 but lacked external i/o without hacking into the sensors and tapping the LEDs and the optical serial connection to the pc cable.

I am writing to let you know about a special offer that we have going
at the moment for robot clubs.

The offer is for club members (and family/friends) we would like to
keep it out of the eye of the general public.

Normally the Viper is going for around the US$89 + freight, as we have
a surplus, we are offering a huge discount on the Viper by sending
them out without their regular box. They are being sent out in simple
snap lock bags, which keeps the costing down and also keeps the
freight at a very reasonable price. To make this offer possible in
terms of freight economy, a minimum order of 10 units is required, a
group buy so to speak.

The price for the package works out to be AU$598 for 10 units
delivered. This works out to under US$50 delivered each unit
(delivered to the club or representative for distribution at a club
meeting)

We will provide one extra Viper in the package which will become the
property of the club. You would be free to do as you wish with the
extra robot, give away prize for a competition, keep it in a club
library etc.

Do you think members of The Robot Group would be interested in taking
up this offer? There is a stop motion video of the Viper on our main
website page if you wanted to take a look.
