Eudora 'is' also open source ... versions past 
7.1 (sometime in the 2nd quarter 2007) will be 
free - n0 ad$ - and open source; however, from 
what I've seen on the developers list, due to the 
proprietary code Qualcomm licensed and rolled 
into Eudora, newer versions are likely to 
resemble Firebird add-ons (if not Thunderbird, itself).
