Low End Microcontroller Intro
Special Interest Group this Thursday night @ show & tell!
I plan do to demonstrate as much as possible the following steps:
Hello world (blinky led) project
1 Using a PIC16F683 8 pin micro, build a circuit on a breadboard
with an LED and support components.
2 Design the circuit in Eagle cad and create a board template
which if printed could be used to build the same circuit on an
etched PCB. I think I can get Eagle to run on Linux laptop
3 If someone brings a laptop with MPLAB then demonstrate
using it to produce the blinky software application
4 Compile a PIC assembly program that I found and ported to
the '683 chip but havent yet tested.
5 Step through it in the simulator to see if it is working
6 If someone brings a PIC programmer like ICD2 (I wont get
mine until next week) then figure out how to use it,
connect the programmer to the windows machine and the chip and
flash the application to the PIC
7 Power up the breadboard and see if the LED blinks
