[Robotgroup] Robo-Chat..?

It occurred to me that other than the mailing list and the meetings, we
don't have a quick channel for com traffic between members.

It just so happens that I have a private chat server setup on one of my
servers over at TxIS. It's running JABBER and I currently use if for
chat with a few other members.

A free and easy to use multi-protocol chat client is available here:

http://gaim.sourceforge.net/

I have successfully used it for one-to-one chats as well as for setting
up multi-user chat rooms for discussions. I would be happy to create
accounts for others so that we could use it to keep in touch with other
robo-members.

My chat server is setup to operate on Port 80 so as to not require
anything special to allow it through firewalls and to also allow chat in
places where chat may be blocked (some corporate firewalls do this).

So, let me know if you're interested and I can setup an account. :)
