[Robotgroup] RG emails on Google

You bring up an excellent point Leslie. One of the dangers of leaving a
mailing lists archive wide open, is that if we are exchanging any private
information like someones address, phone number, etc. it is available to
everyone. The mailing lists I am on seem to not be as trusting as the ones
Vern appears to be on. :-)
Typically, the ones I am on will either disable archiving (not a fan) or
just have the only way you can access the archive is to log in with your
email adn password (via the web) or you can send mailman commands via
email to retireve block of messages.
I like these approaches. That way you don't have to think twice about what
you send in your email to the list. Any info we would want to share with
others via Google(or any other search) can easily and more articuletly be
plased on the website on meetup.com I beleive.
I also was surprised too today to find out the archive was left as
searchable. As a security engineer it makes me cringe ;-) lol But I
understand that Vern and Erik set up the list that way for a reason. If it
is decided that the list archive is to remain searchable, we should check
to see if puremagic.com has a way of hiding or re-writing emails in a way
that cannot be indexed, then we just need to make sure new memebers know
when they sign up to NOT put any personal information in emails.
