[Robotgroup] 60' X100' Steel Building $5000

I thought I would throw in an idea. It has a lot of problems but maybe sufficiently covers the issues of a robo-hut to be worth thinking about.

What if the Robot Group owned something like a panel truck that carried essentials for whatever project is ongoing. I'm thinking something like a used Rider or U-Haul truck. On any given Thursday the truck pulls up to whomever's garage. The rest of the group assembles and we sorta tail gate it.

This ought to address issues of monthly rent and property taxes. ( I am thinking that the note on the truck and the yearly tax on it would be an order magnitude less then rental property.)

Is this an idea to kick around, or are there too many problems?

The local Burner Community also has a warehouse that they rent.
The Burner community being a somewhat looser group in terms of interests, but
a much larger group in that they get 2000 people to pay $65 for a weekend campout
every year. A big chunk of that money goes to pay the rent on a large warehouse
near Airport and Springdale. Lots of stuff gets done there, there are meetings
and construction of large projects which are burned at said event. Groups of
like minded folks have meetings during the week nights, Brand Name Mechanized
being the closest to The Robot Group in terms of subject matter interest.

The AAR LLC manages this warehouse, waivers are signed by everyone attending work
events and there is a strong thread of personal responsibility in the community.
That said, there are people who show up who are a lot wackier than anything we
ever had show at the RoboHut. Also in the burn community there is a group of
members who volunteer to be Rangers, they mostly observe, but when someone is
endangering themselves or others, they will step in. People do still build
propane fueled pyrotechnics and tesla coils at the warehouse.

The Austin Burn Community has found a different way to get a work space for projects.
There are models for having a group workspace other than the Burner or RobotHut V1.0
model as well. The RG will have to decide that getting a space is a high priority
and then what sort of activities are needed to support the cost.
