In my previous job, I was doing everything you are trying but we did
it over HF (video frame rates were really really slow FYI), and had
   text chat (Jabber, no less)!
Military hardware is coooool... < evil grin>
I did all sorts of radio networking. Antennas are EVERYTHING
   (especially in a semi-mountainous terrain).

   Mark,
Part of the demo, if all goes well, will be a broadband link to the
   Internet via ham radio.
If you are on the Internet, you may be able to see part of the demo.
Multiple IP-Cameras are will be used.
I have very limited time to pull this together, for a number of
   reasons,
   so I we will
see how much of it we can have working for the demo.
We have done such the IP-video link before, and we hope to make it a
   common occurrence,
if not common knowledge. We did a 10 mile mesh node IP-video link, New
   Year's
day 2007, then did a limited link of 16.67 miles, using 30mw of power
   at
   each end.
Good antennas make a big difference. Effective use of spread spectrum
   modes of
transmission, does most of the rest. Some would say that all the
   2.4GHz
   access
points, cordless phones, microwave ovens would make the 2.4GHz ham
   band
   useless.
   This is B.S.
   (Bad Statistics)
I will let you know how things go.
