Actually, htat5 is something I have been wanting to do... but my
office is still full of boxes. I'm going to have to bite the bullet
and dump many old documents and memorabilia I don't even recall
   having.
   PARTS ARE NEVER TRASH!!!

Mark, your insight and bots are missed. Especially the dog wrestling
beer fetching bot (as seen on Dave Attell) Make us some vid clips of
any new work and if RG gets a projector we can big screen you as a
   remote show tell.
Who wants to build a wireless remote-telepresence bot that folks could
actually log into from home and use at the meetings. Pokejoes is a
fine example of a complex environment full of people and chairs, big
conversations and small that would be a good test of telepresence
capability and how humans react to it. It seems like a completely
doable experiment but I have never seen it actually done. Big business
spends billions on airfare/hotel/transportation because there is
something that comes from co-location that can't be had otherwise. As
a subcontractor, I have seen it many times where the company that you
sub for blows you off and makes you look bad because you are just some
email name in the void, but if you go there and hang out with them one
week a month they get to know you as a person and the partnership can
completely change. There should be some kind middle ground where you
can virtually be at a place, wonder around and pick up individual
   conversations and chat
chat with folks in a non obtrusive way still gain some of the benefits
of being there without burdening anyone to pan the camera around.

   Glenn,
Actually, I cannot attend the meeting... unless you are holding it in
   Tucson, AZ.
I moved to Arizona back in 2004. Boy, do I miss Austin and ESPECIALLY
   The Robot Group.
   Take Care,
   Mark
