Being the ever vigilant and highly informed individual that you are,
I'm certain my assistance in this is low priority and most likely,
not timely.

I'm not familiar with Linux applications, but for Win32 software, I'm
familiar with a site that has worked out nicely and is fairly well
represented in variety. It may not be what your're asking for, but
here goes . . .

Whenever I want to find a FREE Win32 application that is virus free,
tested and available for immediate download, I used to go to
www.ded.com/nonags for my software. Recently, they changed their URL
to www.nonags.com or something. Since I don't load a lot of new
software every week, I haven't been there in a while.

I've seen everything from PDA and scheduler app's, to games, internet
and computer 'power tools'. There's more stuff there than I'll EVER
be able to use, and try to visit the site at least once a quarter,
just to see what's new. The only thing I don't like about the site
is my having to turn Javascript on. Otherwise, I've NEVER had a problem.

There are a number of applications from this site that I use all the
time, including security and encryption tools, hard drive clean-up
and eraser utilities, and some other pretty off-topic stuff. The
handy thing about this site is their rating system, from 1 - 6
Duckies, 6 being the best. They test and virus check all the
submitted app's thoroughly, and everything offered by an individual
or commercial coding house has to be 'NAG FREE', thus, NONAGS.

By this time, you've already gone there and seen what I've been
yammering about, so hopefully, my typing has more benefit than
keyboard practice.
