I came down to the Thursday night meeting to talk a little about the PCB Photo Etch demonstration. I think I got a feel for how it should go and what we hope to accomplish.
I also met and talked to Paul and Gray.
Tentatively, we are planning for a weekend day in early or mid June. (Later is better for Gray.) I am thinking the session will be roughly 3 hours. 1 hour for discussion. 1 hour for the actual photo etch, and then a final hour for questions and general hobnobbing. I don't think it will actually take 3 hours, although a good photo etch can take an hour by itself.
The location has been volenteered by Leslie, but I need to reconfirm with him and find out about his schedule in June.
Several interested persons were wondering about the possibility of going home with a board that afternoon. It may be possible to arrange this, if the etch process produces good boards and there is enough time to cut and drill. I am going to try and increase the odds by preparing a set of boards before the meeting. This gives me a chance to practice and check my setup.
Because it has been asked before, I will add that I do not expect anyone to fulfill their pledge until they have a cut and drilled board in their hand. I would not expect people to be out of pocket for a board they could not solder to.
So that is the general shape of things. I will post more details as they develop.
