To All,
I've spoken to Kim White at the Bob Bullock Texas State History
Museum about the logistics for the upcoming event on Saturday,
05/26/07, and everyone that is going to be bringing displays has been
contacted and have confirmed they will be able to attend.
However, we need four full-time volunteers to assist in:
- unloading at the BBTSHM curb at 11:30 AM
- hauling everything upstairs (using the elevator)
- setting up on the second floor prior to the show
- staffing from 13:00 - 16:00
- breakdown after the show
- schlepping everything out the door and into vehicles when done.
The fewest number of vehicles taken, the better, but those already
assigned + the four requested above will have parking provided.
If you are able to commit to the entire duration from just after
11:00 AM straight through to carrying the last box out after 17:00,
then please contact me directly BY PHONE before noon Wednesday,
05/23/07. DO NOT EMAIL ME! I don't live online.
The first four people willing to help TRG will graciously be accepted
for this event. If I don't answer immediately, please leave a phone
message that you're able and willing to help with the time of your
call, your name, phone number and when I can contact you for specific
times, directions and so on.
We should be dressed similarly to enhance our public image (I'll be
considering bringing a large grocery bag with eyeholes), but we can
decide on Thursday whether to wear the black or white RoboShirts.
If you have a badge, find and bring it.
The details of the displays being shown:
Bob Comer - 2 @ wheeled/tracked bots
Eric Lundquist - VR Glove + Catherine the Creative
Paul Atkinson (for Rick Abbott) - EggBot
Vern Graner - 1 @ RoboSpinart machine & supplies
Mike Scioli - Coordinator (nice title, huh, Miguel?)
Ed Gonzalez - Logistics/Planning
We will have three standard folding tables for our use, chairs for
the participants and power for charging batteries and powering any of
the devices (as long as we don't push the 15 amp total load).
There will be a protected area alongside the tables for the movable
bots to ramble freely under TRG members' control.
Ed Gonzalez will be providing a single 4 foot rigid power strip, an
extra 20 foot power cord and a two-wheeled hand truck. Those folks
needing individual shorter power drops have been asked to come prepared.
If you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact me
as soon as you can. The deadline for the four volunteer names is
noon Wednesday. I have a dentists' appointment right after that (Ohhh, JOY!).
