[Robotgroup] Dorkbot?

I am always amazed at film changes things and makes them look real. When you
look at the set models on the table, they look like models, but when they
were lit and filmed they looked real. It will be interesting to see the
final results with composite effects. I remember gasping a few times during
star wars and the death star scene, it all looked VERY real down the trench,
but there was one scene where "wedge"? or someone crashes into the surface
and you could tell from the explosions that it was a model of course. That
and it didn't help me seeing a photo of lucas walking on top of the death
star set when I was 10-12 years old :)
Speaking of explosions, what was your source for your demo video? I used to
use "Pyromania" cds as our explosions source material since particle
simulated always looked bad.

The highlight of my evening was enjoying the crowd reaction to my little
J-65 robot,
after a nerve racking video demonstration. How many laptops does it take
to play a dvd disc?
A one, a two, a three -CRUNCH- A three! <sigh>
It is nice to take the heat off the presenter and let the automatons do
the entertaining.
J-65 is destined to have his own movie at some point! WTG, LOL :) Thanks to
everyone that came out. It was a lot of fun!
