[Robotgroup] Just slightly ahead of its time

Yep, DweebVision made it to the Discover Channel web page.

The new mesh nodes I am working on are made out of Linksys WRT54GL
wireless routers.
They can stream multiple video streams and will automatically switch to
the best link they
can find. With directional antennas we did a link from South Austin
Medical Center on
Ben White to the giant water tank on Martin Hill, just to the west of
the MoPac / Tollway.
It was 16.67 miles. From SAMC, the parking garage at Steck and MoPac is
repeatable
at will, on 35 miliwatts - 10 miles. We were able to send streaming IP
video over the link
for several hours 1/1/2007.

The robot radio links are much better now, due to some obsessing.

Cheers,
-Glenn
