I'm not sure what the creators/owners of the various projects, the
membership, The Board or the Elected Officials of The Robot Group thinks or
believes, but when I read some of the tag lines from the images that Mike
and Vern found, I got a little concerned.
Specifically when I read the following:
[This photo is licensed under a Creative Commons license. If you use this
photo within the terms of the license or make special arrangements to use
the photo, please list the photo credit as "Scott Beale / Laughing Squid"
and link the credit to laughingsquid.com]
Is Scott Beale a new member of TRG?
Have I yet again had another senior moment and forgotten that he was
sitting right next to me at the last meeting?
Since when does The Robot Group permit its copyrighted artwork and
photographs of its creations to be freely distributed with credit to
someone that was not the artwork's creator, and who is NOT a voted official
of The Robot Group? Is anyone permitted to grant a Creative Commons
License if they don't own the original copyrighted artwork?
If anyone looks closely enough, there is a rather conspicuous (C) 2007 on
the bottom left hand corner of The Robot Group logo listed here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/laughingsquid/1679955271/.
Am I yet again operating on the wrong side of suspicion and over
protectiveness?
Please help me understand what the rest of The Group thinks so I can go
back to THINKING evil thoughts, rather than expressing them.
